Hey there! How was your weekend? Do anything fun?
After work on Friday, Fabio and I packed up the car and headed over to my grandparents’ house on the Chesapeake Bay! When we got there we dove right into dinner, which included steak, corn, potato salad, deviled eggs, and more. Plus chocolate cake for dessert!
I think you all know by now how I feel about chocolate cake. 🙂
And I am not the only one!
P.S. When did my sister get so big??
After sitting around at the dining room table for a while chatting after dinner, we all called it a night. I was asleep immediately after closing my eyes!
On Saturday morning we were up relatively early and spent some time out back enjoying the morning before the heat of the day set in.
We spent some time watching the dogs run around and then made our way over to the dock.
My sister and I were both wearing pajamas that I got us for the wedding! 🙂
After a quick breakfast at the house, my dad, grandparents, and Fabio and headed out for a round of golf. Meanwhile, my stepmom, sister, and I headed out to get our nails done!
I chose a fun red/orange color and my sister got teal on all her fingers except her ring finger, which was sparkly silver.
After getting our nails done, my sister and I headed over to the pool in my grandparents’ community. It was hot, and we had the whole place to ourselves.
We spent some time frolicking in the water and chatting before the rest of the gang returned from golf. (When they were at the last two holes we could spot them from the pool, so I was a big creep and snapped a picture. 🙂 Ha!)
After golf we grabbed some food at the club house before coming back to the house to relax for a bit. The doggies were happy when we returned! And yes, between Jack, my dad’s two dogs, and my grandparents’ dog, there were four black labs at the house.
Clearly our family is a little obsessed.
My dad, stepmom, and sister had to make their way home shortly after this, but Fabio and I hung out for a while longer with my grandparents. We took some drinks and snacks out to the back deck for an al fresco happy hour, and it was lovely.
A big storm rolled in around dinnertime, so we moved our little party inside and enjoyed some burgers on the grill alongside some of the leftover side dishes from the night before.
After dinner we said goodbye to my grandparents and drove home!
When we arrived we quickly changed and headed out to the bars in Arlington with Fabio’s cousin Ligia who was in town from Connecticut. It was so fun spending some time with her and meeting her boyfriend, who also lives in Arlington. Maybe she will move down here?? A girl can hope. 🙂
We slept in a bit on Sunday and then met up with Ligia and her boyfriend for brunch at Northside Social. After that Fabio and I ran a bunch of errands, and when we got home we made some smoothies and fresh juice to have for this week!
I know I’m not a bride to be anymore, but I love this glass!
And now we are relaxing at home and waiting for Game of Thrones to start! Can’t wait!
Question of the day: Would you rather spend a Saturday night out at the bars or a Saturday night going to bed early?
Things sure have changed for me – on Saturday night I was wishing I was heading into bed instead of heading out to the bar!
