Hi friends! Happy Friday!

Thank you so much for all the sweet comments on yesterday’s blogiversary post. In case you missed it, I’m hosting a giveaway and there’s still time to enter! Details are available here. I will be picking a winner on Monday, so don’t delay! 🙂

I wound up having such a nice day yesterday!

My Thursday began with a 6:00 am barre class at Barre3 in Georgetown.

Anne’s pic of us from our class at Barre3 last week

I’ve taken numerous classes at Barre3 and always enjoy them, but for some reason yesterday’s class just felt extra great. Our instructor, Alex, led us through a variety of moves that had me shaking and quaking all over the place. I felt the burn more than usual, and it was fantastic! I’ll definitely be keeping an eye out for her classes from now on.

When I came out of my class, the sun had risen and I could tell it was going to be a gorgeous day. I am loving this spring weather!

Good morning, Georgetown!

Once I got to work, I printed out some research on healthy meals for children that I had to read, and took my work over to our new treadmill desk.

I won’t go into too much detail, but basically the study found that when full-service restaurants modified their children’s menus to include default side dishes like vegetables, fruit, and salad instead of French fries, kids ate much healthier. Also, even though serving the healthy menu items cost the restaurant a little more, their overall revenue went up (showing that consumers really do prefer to eat at restaurants with healthy options). So cool! I was definitely in my happy place while reading this study and walking on the treadmill desk. And I get paid to do this? Pinch me, please.

At lunchtime I met up with my friend Claire at Potbelly, and we sat outside in the gorgeous sunshine. I forgot to take a picture because we were too busy chatting, but I wound up getting the chicken salad salad and enjoyed every bite. Yum! I love lunch dates with Claire. 🙂

After work I had plans to go to the National’s game with some friends. Hooray for my first baseball game of the season!

Before heading over to the stadium, Fabio and I stopped by our friend James’ apartment for a quick dinner and some beers. He grilled us quite the tasty burger!

For beers we had Loose Cannons, which were delicious but really strong. Consider yourself warned! 😉

Then we headed over to the game!

By the evening the lovely weather had turned overcast, and we were initially worried it was going to rain on us. Somehow we managed to stay dry. Thank you, weather Gods!

Fabio and I decided to order a couple of Blue Moons at the stadium, which was a great choice.

Hooray for Thursday night baseball with good friends!

Although I didn’t actually wind up watching much of the game (typical), I had fun chatting with my friends and sipping my beer in the spring weather. All in all, it was the perfect way to end my Thursday!

What a great day, right?

Question of the day: What was your favorite work day this week and why?

  1. I love Baseball season!! Looks like a great Thursday 🙂 Nats stadium is awesome too. I think my favorite work day this week was Thursday as well because I had a fun event after work.

  2. Any recommendations on best, but not overly expensive seats at that stadium?

  3. Love baseball season, although Chris is super excited that we’re moving to Atlanta because he is a diehard Braves fan. I see a lot of baseball in our future! I’m also super jealous of the walking desk you have at work. We can’t even convince our office to do standing desks or have walk breaks! Boo!

  4. Big old best friend FAIL for not being able to see each other when we were about 10 sections away from each other hahaha. We’ll blame it on the beers… they get me every time.

  5. Oh lucky, I get to go to my first Giants game next Wednesday. I’m dying, I can’t wait! Happy Bloggiversary, I missed it yesterday :/ You have such sweet friends, burgers and beer, then dash to the game 🙂 Have a great weekend! xoxo, ganeeban
