Just as a warning, this is a sappy and picture-heavy post. Don’t say I didn’t warn you!

Hey there friends! Today is a very special day for two reasons. On this day we celebrate the birth of two of my favorite people, Catrina and Fabio!! Therefore I’m going to use this opportunity to show them both how much they mean to me. Hope you don’t mind ๐Ÿ˜‰

Happy Birthday, Catrina!!

Catrina became one of my very close friends during college. We met sophomore year when I pledged to Kappa Delta sorority and she pledged to Alpha Phi. Her pledge class was best friends with a girl in my pledge class so we always went out in a group together. We bonded with the other girls immediately and soon, a friendship (or seven) was born!

Catrina and I have a lot in common when it comes to our weight loss goals, and we became even closer senior year when we worked out together every day and explored weight watchers. We also lived in the best house EVER, which we dubbed “Sloppytown” and had a great time living up our final year in college.

Since Catrina also loves Christmas, for her 21st birthday (and Fabio’s) we threw them a giant surprise Christmas party ๐Ÿ™‚ It was probably one of my favorite memories from college (there is nothing like celebrating Christmas in October with your best friends) and I wish we could relive that day every year for her birthday!

Although college with Catrina was so much fun, I am so glad we remain close to this day. She was the first friend I told about my blog, she is my go-to person to talk about living a healthy lifestyle or the latest book I should read, and I know she will always be there for me when I am upset about something and need a friend to turn to. I know she will always give me honest advice and will go out of her way to help a friend. She is a great person, and I truly appreciate her friendship ๐Ÿ™‚

Us at a graduation party last year.

Us as the band “The Village People” last Halloween.

Me keeping Catrina warm during a chilly Baltimore evening last year! Haha.

Us this summer in NYC.

Have a great birthday Treen!! I’m so sorry I won’t be there to celebrate with you tonight!! Please tell me all about it tomorrow!!

Happy Birthday, Fabio!!

Fabio and I have been dating for almost four years. For twenty-three year olds, four years is a long time. A person changes so much within that time span and we have been with each other through so many phases of our lives. Through joining a sorority, meeting my best friends, making it through college in one piece, graduating, finding a job, finding an apartment- he has been there through it all.

When we met we were just sophomores in college, trying to struggle through an economics class. Now we are living together in DC (where neither of us ever thought Fabio would wind up) and we even have a dog!! There were so many events in between that make us the happy couple that we are today, but it’s hard to go through and identify them all.

For one thing, we have traveled to so many places together. Let’s see, in chronological order there was: Aruba, Dominican Republic, Aruba again, Dominican Republic again, Europe (Rome, Pisa, Florence, and Paris), Jamaica, and Rome again. Plus we have been up and down the east coast together! Phew!

Rome.

Pisa.

Paris.

Aruba.

Jamaica.

Although we’ve had some great times abroad, we’ve also had some great times right here in the states! For example, all of the many baseball games I have been dragged to, have somehow turned me into a bit of a Yankees fan. I can’t imagine how it could have possibly happened….

Season tickets and being a ball boy might have something to do with it. ๐Ÿ˜‰

Through all of our great times together- whether it be flying around the world or just cuddling on the couch- I love Fabio more and more every day. He has seen me through my good days and my bad days, he has still loved me the whole time. He treats me with respect and love and I couldn’t ask for more. He makes me laugh, he takes care of me, and I can talk to him about anything in the whole world, no matter how dumb it may sound. He is more than my boyfriend, he is my best friend. And there is no one else I would rather spend my time with ๐Ÿ™‚

I love you so much babe and I hope you have a fantastic birthday!! I can’t wait to celebrate with you tonight and this weekend!!!

***

Ok guys, that’s all for my love fest! Thanks for sticking around (if anyone is still reading)!!ย  I just wanted these two special people in my life to know how much they mean to me on their birthdays!!

Question of the Day: What do you do to celebrate birthdays of your loved ones??

I can’t tell you what we are doing yet for Fabio’s birthday but I promise you all will get a recap on Monday!! Hopefully he enjoys it!!
