Hi friends! How was your week? Mine was a busy one – work is especially crazy right now and I have a bunch of things going on in my personal life too (like uh, planning a wedding) – so I’m definitely ready for this week to be over. Plus, I have my bridal shower this weekend (which is really more of a couple’s BBQ) and I cannot WAIT to see everyone. That also means we have family in town, so things are a bit hectic around here. Phew!
Anyway, let’s chat about my workouts this week!
Sat., April 22 – Saturday was a rest day! I was planning to get in a quick run with Jack before we headed up to Philly for the weekend, but when I woke up and saw that it was freezing cold and rainy and I changed my mind. Sleeping > running in the cold rain.
Sun., April 23 – Rest day! This day was spent soaking up the last moments with our friends in Philly, and then making the drive home.
Mon., April 24 – Three mile run with Jack! The weather was pretty crappy again on Monday (and Tuesday and Wednesday…), so I was proud of myself for making this run happen. With the weather being so dreary and wet, I really wanted to stay under the covers!
Tues., April 25 – As you already know, Fabio joined me for a spin class at FlyWheel on Tuesday! I really liked the music the instructor, Laura, played and felt like it did a great job of getting me energized for the day. At the end of class I saw that my “Fly” score was 256, which is about average for me.
Wed., April 26 – On Wednesday, I joined the girls, Anne and Kathleen, for a bootcamp class at Urban Athletic Club via ClassPass (<– affiliate link for $30 off!). We had Graham as our instructor again this week, and he absolutely killed us with burpees. If my math is correct, we wound up doing 60 by the end of class. UGH!
We also did a bunch of wall balls, overhead presses, mountain climbers, upright rows, sprints/running drills, and pull ups. It was a hard one!
At the end of class, Graham snapped a photo of us doing a chin-up hold. We were cracking up because Kathleen looks like a chin-up model in this picture. Haha!
You can’t see our feet, but I promise we are holding this!
Thurs., April 27 – On Thursday, Anne and I popped into BodyMass Gym again for their Blast class. This time we had Chase as our instructor, who we liked a lot! Anne and I agreed that the instructors at this gym are very professional and do a great job of correcting your form and pushing you to work harder in a very encouraging way. We also LOVE the music at this gym, which included a ton of throwbacks from the early 2000s.
Our workout consisted of a warm-up and three circuits, each with three exercises, completed three times. We also did a rapid-fire HIIT circuit at the end. It was a good one!
Another thing I like about BodyMass Gym is their resident dog, Flex!!
After class was over, Anne and I stayed behind to stretch/foam roll and we got to play with this cutie. Apparently when they adopted him, his name was Porky! They knew that wouldn’t work for a gym owner’s dog, so they renamed him Flex. Haha!
Dogs make me happy. 🙂
Fri., April 28 – Rest day!
Question of the day: How do you motivate yourself to get out of bed to work out when the weather sucks?
