Hello there! I cannot believe it’s already Friday. Sheesh. Where did the week go?? Better yet, where did the summer go?? John, one of the writers behind my favorite non-healthy lifestyle blogs, Young House Love, explained it perfectly the other day:
“Ack. It’s August. Which means it’s almost September which means summer’s almost over which means it’s practically Christmas. Insert panic attack here.”
Haha, but I shouldn’t be complaining because it’s Friday! Woo hoo! Bring on the weekend! But first, let’s talk about some fashion Friday.
Pants: J. Crew (obtained during my recent shopping trip for $19. What a steal!)
Snakeskin shoes: Nine West Outlet
So there you have it! My Fashion Friday update.
I recently received a really nice email from Ben, a representative from a new San Francisco based startup called Petit Amuse. Their mission is to help food lovers discover artisan treats made by small, specialty producers across the country. For $10 a month, customers can subscribe to receive a different box of 3-4 samples of specialty foods each month.
As a courtesy, Ben offered to send me a sample box for free to see what it was all about.
When it arrived, there was a nice table of contents to help me sort through the hand-picked goodies. In my box I found:
- Ice Wine Jelly (no idea what this is; some type of spread)
- Garukabar (drool-inducing peanut honey energy bar. Seriously AMAZING.)
- Cha-Chas (spicy dark chocolate cookie thing)
- Salted Rosemary Shortbread (another cookie thing)
- Sun Dried Tomato & Parmesan popcorn (nom nom nommm)
I loved that I could pronounce and recognize every single ingredient on the list. There was no scary -ucrose name anywhere Plus, it was absolutely delicious and I gobbled it all up. YUM! I was actually really sad when it was gone. I need to order some more of those!
Then today, I brought the sun-dried tomato and parmesan popcorn to eat with my lunch. First, I was shocked that the ENTIRE bag was only 150 calories. Seriously? The bag is mammoth!
The popcorn was light, flavorful, and airy. Just the way I like it. Plus, the company has a very strong promise to making sure everything in the package is natural, which I love.
So far I have loved everything that came in my box and I cannot wait to dig into the rest (especially the spicy cookie and weird jelly!) Woohoo!
I would totally recommend checking out Petit Amuse‘s website if you’re interested in receiving boxes like this one. The contents inside the box retail for about $20 so it really is a bargain! Plus it’s really fun to have a box delivered to you every month with surprise goodies inside. It’s like a present for yourself!
Anyway, I want to thank Ben so much for sending me the awesome box, and I hope you guys check out his company!
So, does anyone have any fun weekend plans? I was supposed to go up to New York, but now I think I’ll be hangin’ around here instead. I’m hoping to do some fun stuff outside before summer completely passes me by. Maybe a hike, run, or bike-ride? Maybe all three? Maybe not. Haha! Have a great weekend!
